A farm in the neighbourhood

Lawrence Weston Community Farm is a community-led green space on Saltmarsh Drive. Entry is free, with animals, growing spaces and activities that give local people reasons to spend time outdoors. It is a place to visit and a place to take part, shaped around learning and community life. S101

Growing something together

The adult Gardening Club offers a practical way to join in with the farm’s vegetable, fruit and flower gardens. Its published sessions are free and welcome different abilities, with booking arranged through the farm. A shared task gives people something to work on and a natural opportunity to get to know one another. S107

A role that fits the person

Volunteer roles include animal care, gardening and looking after the site. Supported placements can offer additional guidance, including one-to-one help, while post-16 work experience gives students a route into practical learning. These are different ways to contribute, with the level of support and available places needing individual discussion. S104

Small encounters with a bigger world

Farm Tots brings under-fives and their parents or carers into animal care, play and time together. Organised sessions carry a fee, even though entry to the wider farm is free. That distinction matters: the open space and its groups offer different ways for a family to get involved. S106, S101

Part of everyday community life

A community needs places where people can spend time without having to explain a problem first. The farm offers that kind of meeting point, alongside more structured opportunities to learn and volunteer. Its contribution is practical and local: people, animals and growing things sharing a space in the neighbourhood. S101, S104, S107

The detail behind the work

The annual figures cover the whole charity for the year ended 31 March 2025, including work beyond any future Bristol fund allocation. They give context for its scale, rather than showing a project budget or current balances. The spending view follows the filed accounts and the evidence available for that same year. S020
