A way to express what words cannot
MusicSpace uses music and sound as a way for people to communicate and express themselves. Its work spans ages and support needs, offering a different route into a therapeutic relationship when conversation alone may be difficult. The value lies in making space for a person’s own response, rather than expecting everyone to communicate in the same way. S101, S103
Therapy in everyday settings
Individual and group work takes place through outreach across Bristol and the wider South West. Community hubs, schools, hospitals, residential homes and other care settings bring the service into different parts of people’s lives. S101, S103
Support around a child
Schools and early-years groups can arrange therapy, while parents and carers can contact MusicSpace directly to discuss a child’s needs. A professional referral is not the only route in. That range of entry points gives families and the people supporting them ways to begin a conversation about suitable help. Current arrangements and availability need to be checked with the charity. S103
Making room for connection
The service also works with adults, including through community organisations and care settings. Individual and group sessions recognise that communication and emotional expression remain important throughout life. MusicSpace’s contribution is the specialist method, alongside the relationships and setting that allow someone to take part. S101, S103
The detail behind the work
The annual figures cover the whole charity for the year ended 30 June 2025, including work beyond any future Bristol fund allocation. They give context for its scale, rather than showing a project budget or current balances. The spending view follows the filed accounts and the evidence available for that same year. S020
