Safety, with someone alongside

Fermanagh & Omagh Women’s Aid connects refuge accommodation with support in the community for women and children affected by domestic abuse. The work reaches beyond finding somewhere safe to stay, helping families navigate housing, money and the practical decisions that follow. S006, S008

A place to pause and plan

Refuge accommodation includes individual family homes in Fermanagh and a shared setting in Omagh. Support workers help women consider their options, with assistance around benefits, housing, legal protection and moving on. Time, privacy and practical help give families room to think about what comes next. S006

Making a home work

Its free, short-term Floating Support service is for women over 18 in Fermanagh and Omagh who face homelessness through domestic violence or need help to remain safely at home. A dedicated worker can help with budgeting, benefits, utilities, essential furniture and dealing with other services. Referrals are assessed individually. S008

Children heard in their own right

Children aged 5 to 18 can access one-to-one sessions, group work and personal-development support. Sessions give young people ways to explore feelings and relationships at their own pace, while school and community workshops address awareness and prevention. Recognising children’s own experiences makes their support more than an addition to an adult service. S009

A wider conversation about relationships

Voices for Change is a free eight-week community programme across the seven District Electoral Areas of Fermanagh and Omagh. Its sessions explore healthy relationships, domestic abuse, online harms and ways to challenge harmful behaviour. The programme creates space to learn and practise together, bringing prevention into community life as well as individual support. S011

Safety now. Room to rebuild.

A safe place matters, but so do the details that make everyday life possible: a benefits claim, a settled home and someone who listens to a child. Bringing these forms of support together recognises how much rebuilding can involve, while leaving room for each family’s circumstances and choices. S006, S008, S009

The detail behind the work

These are historical figures for that registered charity, rather than combined accounts for both earlier organisations. The report describes joint working with Fermanagh Women’s Aid and plans to merge. S001, S002, S004
