A first conversation that takes men seriously

ManKind Initiative provides a confidential listening, information and signposting service for men experiencing domestic abuse. Its helpline reaches across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including men abused by a current or former partner in a same-sex relationship. S101

Friends, family members and colleagues can also seek information for someone they are worried about. Trained staff offer a listening ear and practical information, making the service a place to begin a conversation as well as a route towards further help. S101, S102

Connecting a call with local help

The charity signposts to domestic abuse services, emergency accommodation and specialist legal support. Its directory helps people find services in their own community. This is a national route into local support, rather than a refuge run by ManKind itself. S101, S102

Time to work through what happened

ACORN offers a different kind of space: a nine-week online recovery programme for male survivors. Developed with professional and survivor input, it aims to address isolation, explore the effects of abuse and support healthier relationships. Access depends on funded provision and referral arrangements, including named regional and Armed Forces pathways. S103

Recognition beyond the helpline

ManKind also trains professionals and works with employers and other organisations on recognising and responding to male victims. That wider work sits alongside its direct support, helping bring male survivors’ experiences into places where people may first seek help. S105

Being heard is part of finding support

The value of this specialism is in giving men a service that addresses their experience directly. Listening, clear information and a connection with further help have different roles. The helpline and recovery programme make space for both the first conversation and the work that can follow. S101, S102, S103

The detail behind the work

The annual figures cover the whole charity for the year ended 30 November 2025. The accounts retain pence, so displayed whole-pound totals may differ slightly from the register. A separate governance fee is shown alongside charitable activities; a fundraising cost is not separately stated. S001
