A place to pause, with privacy

Stirling and District Women’s Aid supports women and children affected by domestic abuse across Stirlingshire. Its main refuge has seven self-contained flats, with their own living, cooking and sleeping space, alongside communal areas for children and young people. Accommodation is offered following an assessment of needs, safety and available space. S101, S106

Support that comes closer

Family outreach takes practical and emotional support into the community, with a particular focus on rural areas. The service works with women who have children under 18 and live in, or are seeking to settle in, the Stirling Council area, including where children are not currently living with them. S102

That outreach can also support the move from refuge into a new home. Contact before the move and follow-on support give the transition a continuing connection, rather than treating departure from refuge as the end of support. S106

Practical help, personal choices

One-to-one support can include housing and benefits information, help with forms, accompaniment to appointments and advocacy. Women can seek information once or return for further support. Children can receive help in their own right, including when their mother is not ready to seek support herself. S107

Making support reachable

A service can only be useful if there is a way to reach it. Stirling’s combination of refuge, community support and rural outreach gives that practical question real attention. It connects somewhere safe to stay with the everyday work of housing, family life and finding a way forward. S102, S106, S107

The detail behind the work

The annual figures cover the whole charity for the year ended 31 March 2025. The accounts classify its expenditure as charitable activities, including allocated support and governance costs. The fundraising-expense line contains a dash, so a separate amount is not treated as a verified zero. S001
