Someone to talk to. Somewhere to belong.
Base 51 combines counselling with wider youth support in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Its work includes free or subsidised therapy and specialist counselling for young people affected by domestic abuse. S101
Early intervention is central to its work. Alongside counselling, Base 51 offers specialist trauma support, art therapy, a youth club and an LGBTQIA+ group, bringing therapeutic help and social activities into a wider approach to young people's wellbeing. S102
Space to be yourself
Outburst is a free group for LGBTQIA+ young people, those questioning and allies aged 11-21. It offers a place to meet in Nottingham, alongside the charity's therapeutic work. S101
The work, in real terms
For January to December 2025, Base 51 reports 1,121 hours of counselling and 192 attendances at Outburst. It also records 112 detached youth-work sessions and six weeks of Art In Mind with City Arts. These are different measures of delivery, not counts of distinct young people. S102
Care beyond the counselling room
The strength of this approach is the connection between focused therapeutic help and everyday opportunities to belong. A confidential conversation and a welcoming group have different roles. Bringing them into the same charity gives young people more than one way to connect with support. S102
The detail behind the work
The annual picture covers the whole charity for the year ended 31 March 2025. Its spending split comes from the same-year official annual return in the 12 October 2026 extract. The 2025 delivery figures above cover a different, clearly labelled calendar year. S001, S020, S102
