Time to build a conversation

Youthline offers free counselling for young people aged 12-25 who live, work or study in Bracknell Forest. Its work connects community appointments at Portman Close with counselling in schools, giving local young people different settings in which to be heard. S101

Individual counselling can last up to 50 minutes each week for up to 24 weeks. Creative activities can help when talking feels difficult. S102

Working through worries together

Its six-week stress-and-worry workshops bring a consistent group together at Portman Close or in Bracknell secondary schools. Two counsellors facilitate activities, discussion and practical exercises. The group format creates an opportunity to explore worries alongside peers, including while waiting for individual counselling. S103

A local service with a wider circle

In 2025/26, Youthline reports offering 8,335 counselling sessions to 880 clients at Portman Close and in schools. Its wider approach also includes support for parents, carers and professionals around young people, recognising that emotional support has a place in that wider circle of care. S101

Space for trust to develop

The value of a regular counselling relationship lies in the time it makes available: returning to a conversation, exploring difficult feelings and gradually finding words for them. Youthline’s weekly approach makes that continuity part of its local offer. S102

The detail behind the work
